IWDG welcome New Director24th Nov 2016
IWDG welcome a new edition to their Board with the appointment of Conal O'Flanagan.
Conal lives in north County Dublin and has been interested in cetaceans for over 30 years. He was delighted to hear in 1999 that a number of people had come together to set up the IWDG. He joined the Group soon after and became the first co-ordinator of the IWDG Constant Effort Sighting Scheme, which is still going strong today, and later did a stint as Director and Treasurer of the Group. Work, family and other commitments led to him stepping back from active participation in the Group for a number of years, but as these pressures have now eased he has got more involved again, starting with a week on the Celtic Mist 2016 anniversary cruise.
Conal replace Karl Grabe who stood down at the end of his term, IWDG wish to sincerely thank Karl for all his input during a difficult time in the group and his commitment to rebuilding the IWDG wesbsite and online database. We hope to see Karl at the helm of Celtic Mist very soon.
