Evening of talks on Cetacean Research and Monitoring in Belmullet, Co Mayo

An evening of talks will take place in Belmullet, Co Mayo on 27th March @ 19:30 in the Belmullet Civic Centre, Belmullet.

This is a evening hosted by CMRC and IWDG on the work of both groups in the area. CMRC have been monitoring marine mammals in Broadhaven Bay as part of the Corrib Gas Project for over 10 yeasrs and IWDG have been running a cetacean stranding in the area since 1991 as well as carrying out dedicated surveys of the Atlantic Marine Energy Test Site.

Two talks on the night
1. Barry McGovern from the Coastal & Marine Research Centre (CMRC) will give a talk on the work they do on the marine mammals in Broadhaven Bay.
2. Simon Berrow from the Irish Whale and Dolphin Group (IWDG) will give a talk on whale and dolphin strandings with special focus on the Belmullet area.
