Monty Hall's new series Great Irish Escape, filmed in Ireland in 2010 will be broadcast from Thursday 11 August at 8pm on BBC2.
Star of two Great Escape series on BBC, Monty Halls spent six months in Ireland in 2010 living in Roundstone, Conamara and working with the Irish Whale and Dolphin Group.
During his stay he surveyed the waters around Slyne Head and south Conamara looking for cetaceans, sharks and anything else of interest. He encountered and photographed bottlenose dolphins on a number of occasions and matched these images to the IWDG Coastal Bottlenose Dolphin catalogue.
He also assisted in a post-mortem examination of a young minke whale, bycaught in lobster buoy ropes off Doolin, Co. Clare and tagged basking sharks off the Inishowen Peninsula, Co. Donegal and off Conamara.
His six part series starts on BBC 2 at 8pm on Thursday 11 August 2011.
